The Progress to Success

The Blueprint Project is a series of business programs designed to help entrepreneurs grow from level to level by completing a set of projects with support. The Blueprint Project delivers business training, invaluable mentorship, tools, a robust support network, and the potential for capital infusion.

Phase 1: Clarify

 Designed to help entrepreneurs with new ideas research and test their ideas:

  • Define and research your business assumptions

  • Create a business model around your idea

  • Execute a test to validate the desirability and viability of your business idea and model.

Phase 2: Activate

Designed to help entrepreneurs launch and legitimize their businesses:

  • Develop a project plan and budget to launch or grow your business.

  • Obtain the business structure, licenses, permits and more to legitimize your business.

  • Develop a sales plan to acquire and grow your first set of customers.

Phase 3: Solidify

Designed to hep entrepreneurs establish and strengthen their infrastructure:

  • Set up a financial management system.

  • Develop an operations system.

  • Establish a one of a kind brand.

  • Develop a sales system to grow your customer base.

  • Protect your business with contracts, IP and more.

 How it Works

1. Submit Your Application

By March 31, 2024 tell us all about you, your business idea and/or existing business and how it adds to the well-being of your neighborhood.

2. Get
Selected

A selection committee will choose the most promising businesses to interview. Interviewees will be accepted into the program based on the quality of the business idea, fit for the program, motivation, and level of commitment to community wellbeing.

3. Join
the Program

 Work with mentors and instructors who will help you develop everything from the basic concepts of your business to plans for step-by-step execution. Receive up to $4,000 in startup funds to help grow your business. 

4. Pitch
Your Idea

Having completed The Renaissance Project, you’ll be immediately eligible to enter a Pitch competition. Stand before a panel of judges, pitch your idea, and win up to $10,000 in additional capital.

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for committed, driven, and ambitious early-stage entrepreneurs who:

  • Are 18 years and older

  • Have a a business idea or side hustle

  • Can demonstrate steps taken to start or grow their business.

Progress Playbook is a business training and service platform that designs customized experiences to help entrepreneurs start and grow businesses.

The Office of Neighborhood Safety (ONS) combines the efforts of the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP), the Office to Prevent Gun Violence (OPGV), and Atlas to empower New Yorkers and work with them to pursue community-driven solutions to public safety.
