Our Story

Progress For Good was founded on a simple but powerful belief: profit is more than the financial bottom line — it’s collective progress and community wellbeing. In many neighborhoods, people rely on side hustles and informal businesses to make ends meet, but often lack the necessary resources and support to turn their ideas into sustainable ventures. We saw an opportunity to change that — not just by helping people launch businesses, but by assisting them in building confidence, creating wealth, and strengthening their communities.

Since 2020, we’ve supported entrepreneurs at every stage — from idea to scale — through programs, coaching, capital, and connections that combine project-based business training with a deep commitment to community development.

The Founder

Lloyd Cambridge, founder of Progress For Good, grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, where he witnessed both the hustle and the barriers faced by everyday entrepreneurs and his neighbors. From a young age, he developed a deep passion for business, not just as a means to make money, but as a tool to create opportunities, stability, and impact for his family and community. After earning a degree in economics from NYU, Lloyd built a career at JPMorgan Chase, and later led NYC Business Solutions, serving tens of thousands of entrepreneurs across New York City. Through these experiences, he saw both the transformative power of entrepreneurship and the persistent gaps in access for under-resourced communities. Progress For Good was born from his conviction that profit is more than money — it’s confidence, impact, and community prosperity. Today, Lloyd is committed to ensuring every entrepreneur has the tools and belief they need to succeed.
